2017 Rock & Roll Camps FAQs
What time does camp start and end? A camp week runs Monday to Friday. Camp starts at 9am and wraps at 3pm daily with the option of early drop-off and late pick-up. Drop off as early as 8:30am, pick-up by 4pm.
What happens on a typical day at camp? Private and small group lessons, as well as seminars and clinics for students in the mornings; in the afternoons, campers rehearse in bands of 5-7 students. On Thursday of camp week, students go into the recording studio to record the songs they have been working on all week. Friday is rehearsal and performance day. Morning rehearsal for the afternoon performance!
What should students bring? SORL has drums, keyboards, and amps here so no need to bring those. Drummers should bring drumsticks, guitarists should bring their guitars and picks, bassists should bring their bass guitar, and keyboardists and singers just need to show up. It is recommended to bring a notebook.
What about lunch? students may bring a bagged lunch or bring money each day to purchase lunch. Students get 30-45 minutes for lunch and are required to remain at the school.
When is the performance? The performance takes place on Friday, the last day of camp, at 1pm. It is open to the public. We encourage friends and family to attend.
Where is the performance? SOR LYNN (25 Exchange St. 2nd Floor) where our rehearsal room is transformed into an awesome performance space with lighting, and room for all!
Can a student take a lesson on a different instrument just to try it out? Absolutely! We encourage students to try out different instruments if they would like to.

What if I need to cancel or change to a different camp week after enrolling? The cancellation fee is $50, and the fee for changing to a different camp week is $25.
